How to Make Your Dad Feel Special This Father’s Day

It won’t be long before Father’s Day is here — less than two weeks away! If you’re wondering how to celebrate Father’s Day this year we have some suggestions to make your dad feel extra special on his day.

How to Treat Your Dad Special This Father's Day
Why not splurge this year and show your father how much you appreciate all he’s done for you. Treat him to a comfortable and relaxing stay in one of our Atlantic Beach vacation rentals. He’ll feel like a king in any of our furnished rentals with fully equipped kitchens and laundry.

Picture him lounging by the pool or peacefully lounging by the ocean on the special day just for him. Take a walk along the beachfront and just enjoy the time spent with your father. Time spent together is such a priceless gift you have to give, one that any parent would treasure, we’re sure.

How to Treat Your Dad Special This Father's Day
A vacation in one of our Atlantic Beach vacation rentals makes a delightful Father’s Day gift. Does he really need another dress shirt or matching tie, funny Tee shirt or a golf outing? Ok, he might light that last one but there’s nothing that says you can’t do that, too, while you’re here!

Most important of all is to remember, no matter what you do or where you go with your dad, this is a great opportunity for you to connect with him on a personal level. Sometimes that’s as easy as sitting and talking one-on-one and letting him know that he matters to you. Other times, it’s just giving him some time out of your busy schedule to be with him. Once upon a time he was one of the two most important people in your life. Take this day to let him know you have not forgotten. Happy Father’s Day!

Bringing Fido on Your Family Beach Vacation

Pet lovers everywhere enjoy bringing their four legged family members on vacation with them, especially when it’s to the beach. Dogs love the beach – running along the sandy beachfront and jumping in the surf. What’s not to love about that! Many people take their dogs with them everywhere they go so a vacation should be no different. When you stay in a rental from Atlantic Beach Realty you’ll be able to enjoy pet friendly vacation rentals that even Fido will love.

Bringing Fido on Your Family Beach Vacation
When you’re packing for the trip, be sure to bring your pet’s favorite belongings. Having their own bed with them while in strange surroundings brings them comfort and lets them know where they sleep. Their own water and food bowls from home and some toys will ensure their security and happiness. Try to keep them on the same sleeping, eating, and play schedule as they’re used to.

Most places that are pet-friendly will ask for an additional fee to cover potential damages or excessive clean up of the rental after your departure. This is pretty standard. Some places will put weight limits on dogs as well. People with angst-ridden dogs should seriously consider boarding their pets at home or in the area for everyone’s peace of mind.

Bringing Fido on Your Family Beach Vacation
Many North Carolina beaches allow dogs, though most have leash laws, and some limit dog access to certain times of the year. When planning a trip to beach with your dog, be sure to bring along bags to pick up any waste, as all locations require you to clean up after your pet. Atlantic Beach allows leashed dogs onto the sand all year, though they must stay back from the ocean in areas where lifeguards are present.

When you’re ready to find that pet friendly vacation rental, do a vacation rental search on our website and select “Pet Friendly” under Amenities. You will receive a list of all the pet friendly rentals we have. If you’d like any additional information please don’t hesitate to call us or use the “Live Chat” feature on our website. We’d love to help!

Enjoying Your Baby’s First Beach Vacation

If you will be traveling with a baby for the first time this summer, there are some necessary precautions you should take to keep your baby happy and safe. When you make your vacation rental reservations with us at Atlantic Beach Realty be sure you let us know that you will be bringing a baby along. Many rentals can provide baby equipment (cribs, highchairs, play yards, etc.) at no extra charge. When you’re browsing through our accommodations check the list of amenities in advance to see what’s available. If not, you’ll need to either bring your own or get what you need from a local rental company.

Enjoying Your Baby's First Beach Vacation
With a little well-planned effort your baby’s first beach vacation can be a pleasant and fun-filled event. As long as your baby’s basic needs are met they’ll be pretty happy to go anywhere you’re going, just be sure they stay on the eating and sleeping schedule that they are accustomed to at home.

Here are some tips that will help you with your plans for traveling with a baby. You’ll probably find that some vacation rentals are more suitable to a family with a baby than others so take your time and look around.

• Best Time to Travel. Try to schedule your air flights when the baby normally naps. Your fellow travelers will thank you. Walk and play with the baby while in the airport. More energy exerted while off the plane will be less energy the baby exerts while on the plane.
• Stay On Schedule. While you’re on vacation try to maintain the schedule you have at home as closely as possible. That means the time you wake up and go to sleep, the time you eat meals, and when naptime is.
• Bring favorites. If your baby is used to a musical stuffed animal, a special blanket, pacifier or certain toys, bring them along on vacation.
• Just Ask. Does the rental you’ll be staying at provide equipment and accessories for babies? Ask about car seats from the car rental agency, too.

Enjoying Your Baby's First Beach Vacation

• Sun Protection. Because you’re visiting a coastal location be sure to stay out of the midday sun. Dress your baby with a hat and lightweight clothing. Apply sunscreen to any areas of skin showing and consider renting a cabana or sun tent to shield them from the sun.
• Be Calm. Don’t stress out when getting ready for your trip. Stay calm, move slowly, and the baby will too.
• Less Can Be More. With babies the rule really is “Less is More.” Don’t over stimulate the baby. Provide a quiet and comfortable space for them to take their regular naps. And remember — afternoon naps improve the chances of a quality evening for everyone.
• If your baby is mobile, be sure to baby proof your accommodations as soon as you arrive.

If you follow these tips your baby’s first beach vacation can be a wonderful time for everyone that makes for lasting memories. Once your accommodations have been fully baby proofed you can get on with the pleasure of experiencing an enjoyable and relaxing beach vacation with your baby.
