17th Annual Carolina Chocolate Festival

It’s hard to believe that February is almost here and so will the annual Carolina Chocolate Festival. This year will be its 17th year and will be one you don’t want to miss. Staying with us at Atlantic Beach Realty will keep your family wanting to return every year to experience this one of a kind festival on the Crystal Coast. Let’s take a peek at what you and the family can experience at the Festival below.

Cocoa 5K Run

Why not spend a little time outside running before heading over to the festival to munch on some chocolate goodies? Yes, this year the Cocoa 5K run will be returning and is one that you will remember forever. Happening on Saturday, February 1st at Carteret Community College McGee Building at 8:00 am is where it will happen. And if you’re worried that you won’t be able to keep up with a run, then you can just walk the course instead. It will be for individuals and there is even a family pack that you can sign up for. What a great way to start the day then to run for a sweet treat afterwards!

Chocolate Spa

For those who want to get their spouses or loved one a day at the spa, then consider the Chocolate Spa. Enjoy a 90-minute Swedish Massage to help you relax while you are on vacation.  Plus get the relaxation of a foot reflexology as well during your massage. Relax and enjoy the smell of chocolate as you get to relax the day away. There are a limited number of spots so be sure to reserve a spot for you and your loved one today.

Chocolate Treats & Goodies

When it comes to chocolate, we can tell you that you won’t run out of finding some of the most decadent treats around. From chocolate cakes to tortes to homemade chocolate bars, there will be something for everyone in the family. And who wouldn’t want to shop for other fun things that are made from chocolate to bring home as souvenirs for the rest of the family who didn’t come along with you. There will also be an hourly chocolate pudding eating contest that will make your kids want to join in. What a great two days that you can join in on the fun and enjoying some delicious chocolate treats on February 1st & 2nd.

While there are so many other great reasons as of why you should go and enjoy the 17th Annual Chocolate Festival, these we wanted to share with you. If you haven’t booked your next family vacation to Atlantic Beach this year, now is the time. We can’t wait to see you and your family soon as you get to indulge in some tasty treats at the Chocolate Festival!

Beach Re-Nourishment In Atlantic Beach

February is the beginning of a major beach re-nourishment project taking place along Atlantic Beach, Pine Knoll Shores and Emerald Isle.

Although this project will impact the area beaches perhaps up to May, it’s a welcome project to protect our coastal area especially after hurricane Florence.

Expect Atlantic Beach to be completed by end of February or early March, and the entire project by May.

Here’s some helpful links to get more info on the project:

Also, for even more details and forth coming updates you can visit the Carteret County project update page for the latest.

Apart from the restoration and protection of our beaches, and the beautification from the planted sea oaks, it’ll be fun to hunt for fossils this spring and summer!
