Each year April 22 marks the anniversary of the birth of the modern environmental movement in 1970 known as Earth Day. This global event occurs each year to educate, mobilize and activate citizens across the globe. It is the largest civic-focused day of action in the world with more than 1 billion people in 192 countries participating.
Earth Day Network, the organization that leads Earth Day worldwide, announced that Earth Day 2018 will focus on mobilizing the world to end plastic pollution.
