Build a Sandcastle

Building is a sandcastle is what a lot of parents remember doing and your kids will love too. Make sure that you bring with you to the sand a bucket, a shovel, and a lot of imagination. This activity the whole family can join in and have a great time. To add some decorations to their sandcastles, they can hunt for different treasures on the beach such as sea glass, shells and more. Just let their imaginations run wild on making each sandcastle different!

Hopscotch Time

Another fun thing that your kids can do on the beach is make their own hopscotch board. All they need is some sand, a stick to draw the boxes and number and something to keep tabs on who landed where. We do suggest that you have flip-flops or water shoes on your child, so their feet don’t get too hot on the sand. We don’t want them to burn their feet while they play this classic playground game on the beach.

I Spy

A great classic game that is often played in the car can now be played on the beach. You can start the game by saying “I spy with my little eye, something blue” and have each child guess what it is. This game can be played for however long they want to, and it gives them an insight on what kind of things they can find in nature. Make this game fun for everyone in the whole family and get them involved in each game!

Build Sand Animals

Building a sand animal is just like building a sandcastle only they make it into the shape of their favorite animal. Each child will need their own bucket, shovel and their imagination as they design their animal in the sand. This doesn’t have to be a difficult animal and if its something that they child came up with their own, then let them have fun. You can then take a picture with your phone or camera of each child standing next to their creation and frame it when they get home.

While there are many other fun kid activities that can be done on the beach, these are the few we thought we’d share with you. If you haven’t made your vacation plans yet, now is the time. We still have plenty of Oceanfront vacation rentals to choose from. Make this vacation one that you will never forget!
