Are you looking forward to spending the holidays here at the beach but not sure what to do? Join in the 13th Annual Light Up the Night Christmas Parade happening on December 6th in Atlantic Beach. This year will be a little different and yet just as exciting as the previous years. The parade will feature several new parade floats and even a new route too. Be ready to kick off the holiday season with the family while sitting and watching the parade at 6:00 pm. After the parade you will be able to shop a little, enjoy hot chocolate and cookies, and live carolers. Don’t miss this fun event happening right here in Atlantic Beach with the family!

Christmas Candlelight Tour

If you have never been to Beaufort during the holiday season, then you are missing out on some beautiful decorations. This year the 12th Annual Christmas Candlelight Tour will be happening on December 14th  at 5:00 pm and it’s one you won’t want to miss. They will be showcasing some of Beaufort’s inns, bed & breakfasts and private homes. The town of Beaufort is beautiful anytime of the year you visit but the holidays happens to be one of the best times to visit. We promise you that you will never get tired of walking around historic Beaufort and take in the sights and smells you will experience.

If you haven’t purchased all of your gifts when you visit us in Atlantic Beach, then you will want to check out the Olde Fashioned Holiday Market. This is being held at the Olde Beaufort Farmers Market on Saturday, December 21st from 4:30 pm to 8:30 pm. Here you will be able to celebrate the holiday by shopping from many local farmers, artists and bakers. Many of the items available will be homemade and perfect for that hard to shop for family member. You will also be able to enjoy some local food and Santa will even be there. What a great time to spend the evening with the family before Christmas is here.

There are many other things that will be happening during the month of December, but these are the few things we wanted to share with you. This turkey is one that you won’t be eating on Thanksgiving Day, but it’s one where you can run your calories off. This is a scenic run in Pine Knoll Shores on November 28th at 9:00 am and you will be able to run, jog or walk 3.1 miles in Pine Knoll Shores. After the run waiting for you at finish line is where you will find hot chocolate, donuts and coffee. What a great event to do as a family before eating the turkey in the afternoon.

Swansboro Christmas Flotilla

Have you ever visited Swansboro in the month of November before? This is a great place on the Crystal Coast where you can get in the Christmas spirit. On Friday, November 29th is where you will find the Swansboro Christmas Flotilla which is a tradition for many to visit to get ready for the holidays. Beginning at 6:00 pm is where you can join in the fun on this annual celebration along the waterfront to watch the parade of decorated boats. There will also be fun activities for kids of all ages, live entertainment and more. This is one event you don’t want to miss this year!

Emerald Isle Christmas Parade

Head over to Emerald Isle this year on Saturday, November 30th at 3:00 pm to view the Christmas Parade and Tree Lighting. This event has been happening for more than 15 years and is one that you can’t miss. The parade will begin in the heart of Emerald Isle and the kids will be able to visit with Santa after its over. Then head over to Merchant’s Park where your family will get to see the Christmas Tree lighting and there will be refreshments after the fun event. This is perfect to end a great weekend or week spent in Atlantic Beach this year for Thanksgiving.

Free Summer Movie

Celebrate the 4th of July on the Crystal Coast

Come to nearby town, Emerald Isle to the Emerald Plantation Cinemas where your family can watch “Peter Rabbit” for free. This movie begins at 10:30 am and while the movie is free, you will have to purchase drinks and popcorn to go along with the movie. What a wonderful, fun thing to do with the kids, especially if they are younger.

Downtown Morehead City 4th of July Celebration

If you have never been to the beach during the 4th of July, then you have been missing out on this fun event. Come to Jaycee Park from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm to see The Main Event Band. Dance and sing your hearts out as you jam to many different genres of music. At 9:00 pm the music will fade and soon you will be able to watch the Morehead City Fireworks display in the air. What a fun event for all ages and can be the highlight of your trip!

If you are wanting to try something a little different this year, then head over to the waterfront of Morehead City. Here you and your family can get a different kind of view of the fireworks from aboard a scenic cruise. Skip the battle of finding the perfect spot to watch the fireworks with the family and just enjoy them from the boat. What a memorable trip to the beach this could be.

Head to the Circle in Atlantic Beach to be able to get your spot for the fireworks. You can view the fireworks from the beach and it’s like nothing you’ve ever seen before. And just before the fireworks extravaganza you can hear Robert McDuffy perform. The fireworks show will begin around 9:00 pm so don’t miss out on this fun!
